Iron is a mineral found mainly in the blood. It is responsible in large part by transport and
assimilation of oxygen by the cells, promoting their use in the vital process of the same.
In addition to its essential function in the production of hemoglobin, the iron has an important role in proper bone formation, wound healing, the synthesis of RNA in skin pigmentation and hair, and in protein metabolism.

The groups most vulnerable to iron deficiency in children are growing ups, adolescents, women of reproductive age, pregnant and lactating women and individuals who practice intense physical activity. People with iron deficiency have general fatigue, anorexia, pale skin and mucous membranes (inside the eye, gums), and learning difficulties (in children).
