Jacaranda caroba is used in Brazil as a diuretic, diaphoretic, against gonorrhea and to baths in syphilis, bubon, gout and rheumatism (Dragendorff, The medicinal plants of the various peoples and times, p 610). In Europe, Jacaranda is used as a diuretic and blood cleansing agent (Thoms, Handb. D. pr., And Wiss Pharm., Vol. V, page 1587).
Also in homeopathy (the test was carried out by Mure (Mure, Pathogen, Bresil, 279, cited in Allen's Encyclopedia, Mat., Med., V, 176.)) the drug is used in syphilis, gonorrhea, gonorrhagic rheumatism, balanitis, and chakra-like ulcers Penis called (Clarke, A Dict. Of Mat. Med., Vol. II, p. 61; Heinigkes Handb. D. Hom. Arzneiwirkungsl., P. 326.).
The leaves contain u. a. 2.6% Caroben (Comp. 1).), A substance whose chemical character (glycoside or alkaloid) has not yet been established.
Application in practice based on the literature and a roundtable:
Jacaranda is prescribed for gonorrhea and its late stages (rheumatism due to gonorrhea, condyloma, ulcus molle, balanitis and dysuria) and in syphilis.
As a means of exchange Daphne mezereum can be selected.
Applied plant part:
The dried leaves are used, as is the HAB. indicates (§ 4). Also for the preparation of the "Teep" the dried leaves are used. Folia Carobae are officinal in Brazil.
Dosage:
In homeopathy: dil. D 1-2, 10 drops three times a day.
